It’s essentially a travelogue starring several Disney characters. There are live action segments where the Disney artists and writers visit a couple South American countries looking for ideas, intermixed with sections featuring Donald and Goofy having adventures with the locals. A cartoon segment featuring a young mail plane named Pedro seems to last forever, but the sequence where Donald tries to cross a suspension bridge on a llama has hysterical moments. If nothing else, this movie is an interesting time capsule in the way life in places like Bolivia and Chilé was filtered to appeal to 1940s white suburbia.
